Ever since the first EclipseCon in 2004, held at Disneyland, Eclipse has had a conference in the US. I missed all the Disney music in 2004, so my first EclipseCon was in 2005. Since then, I have presented at various EclipseCons. Throughout the years, I saw the varying interests of EclipseCon audiences. It is always a challenge to form an EclipseCon program that is equally interesting to both developers of Eclipse technology and users Eclipse users.

Since the very early days of the Eclipse Foundation, we have used our conferences in both the US and in Europe as ways to bring together members, committers, contributors and other stakeholders who have a vested interest in our community. These conferences have served as primary vehicles for showcasing our projects, for demonstrating new directions, and for generally enabling us to advance our sense of community.

The call for papers for EclipseConverge 2017 is open. It is the first step toward what will be another great Eclipse event. For those who may not know, Eclipse Converge is a new event for the Eclipse community. It is a one-day summit dedicated exclusively to Eclipse technologies, with the goal of allowing our North American developer community to meet and share ideas.
Submissions are now open for Devoxx US 2017. We encourage our Eclipse community members to propose talks for the Devoxx US program, which has a guaranteed number of talks reserved for Eclipse content.
As a bonus for our community, speakers at either Devoxx US or Eclipse Converge will be offered complementary Converge + Devoxx Combo passes. See the registration page for details.
The Converge Call for Papers will open in mid-November.
We are excited to announce a new community gathering called Eclipse Converge. It is a one-day summit planned to coincide with Devoxx US, a new developer-oriented conference also being organized by the Eclipse Foundation. See About Eclipse Converge for more information.
The Call for Papers will open in November, 2016. Registration for Eclipse Converge will also open in November.
